“a modern translation of West Indian culture and style”
Located under the viaduct within the Manhattanville Factory District of West Harlem, Solomon and Kuff is a 5,000 square foot industrial space features a loft style dining area along with event lounge, two elevated DJ booths and two full bars.
Deirdra Govan of Deirdra Govan Designs conceptualized the interior and graphic design for the space and the brand, bringing to life a visual narrative that balances the history of rum and turn of the century architectural details with contemporary black & white photography by Barron Claiborne. The interior accents of sultry amber lighting, reclaimed patterned wood, garden walls and a display of aged rum barrels, all work together in creating a rustic yet refined flow of space, complemented by the frame work of expansive high tin ceilings, exposed brick walls, structural black beams and floor-to-ceiling windows that offer street scape views facing the Hudson River.
